Finding Rest in a Noisy World

Life rarely slows down on its own. Between work, family, and the constant pull of our phones, quiet moments can feel like a luxury rather than a rhythm. Yet Scripture reminds us in Psalm 46:10 to be still and know that He is God — not as a suggestion, but as an invitation into peace that the world cannot offer.

Rest, in the biblical sense, is not simply the absence of activity. It is the presence of trust. When we set aside time to sit quietly with the Lord — whether through prayer, reading His Word, or simply sitting in His presence — we are declaring that He is in control, not our schedules.

This week, consider setting aside fifteen minutes each day with no agenda except to be with God. Let it be a small act of trust in a season that constantly asks you to hurry. He is near, and He is patient with us as we learn to slow down.
